Over the years Loaves and Fishes Fund has proudly supported many great organizations and individuals in the community such as The Ottawa Food Bank, the Ottawa Salvation Army, the Wings of Phoenix, Serenity House, St Mary’s Home, the Ottawa Hospital Foundation, CHEO, Ronald McDonald House, Winchester Memorial Hospital, and many more individual families.

hanks to the inspiration of Pat Butler in 1999, the Loaves and Fishes Fund of Ottawa-Carleton was created and has been supporting underprivileged and homeless neighbours in our communities since then. Initially designed to provide meals to the homeless and to support breakfast and lunch programs in our schools, the Fund has expanded through community partnerships to support local charities in our region.

The Loaves and Fishes Fund along with its sponsors, has helped raised over $2,000,000 since its inception. All of the proceeds generated by the fund’s revenues help assist in the battle of hunger for the less fortunate, and 100% of proceeds go to the Loaves and Fishes Fund.

In 2019 The Loaves and Fishes Fund Gala exceeded its goals and was able to provide significant donations of over $175,000 to exceptional programs within our community such as the Ottawa Mission, the Ottawa Foodbank, and the Salvation Army, the Tornado Relief Fund, Shepherds of Good Hope, and many other small local Food Banks within Ottawa. The Loaves and Fishes Fund will continue to play an important role in alleviating hunger and poverty in 2019 through the generous donations of our friends and sponsors.
